Just some Rough planning, before I take things to illustrator. I am going for a childish yet dark feel with some humour. So I'm planning to keep things simple, with a style I like using.

I've done some additional sketches.

I've also done my first colour sketches.  One is done by hand (watercolour, ink and marker). The second one is also done by hand and coloured in Corel Painter (watercolour, ink, and pen.)

Initial sketches of "Route canal"-Underbelly of Birmingham

Here are some of my initial sketches following my research in Birmingham last weekend.  I have decided to go into more depth about the lifestyle of the people living on the canals.

I intend to add to these images by visiting a friend who owns a canal boat, so I can do some internal sketches.  I'm also doing some more sketches from further research I've done today where people are living on the boats, I shall post these shortly.
